On 06/15/2021, a resident in the 11000 block of Glacier Highway reported being woken up in the middle of the night by what sounded like a large firework going off. The resident did not think to much about it at the time, due to the 4th of July being in the near future. In the morning, the resident found that their mailbox had been destroyed. Pieces of the mailbox could be found up to 150 feet in all directions. It is unknown if the mailbox was destroyed by a firework, explosive, or by other means. The mailbox is valued at about $50.

On 06/01/2021, Glacier Gardens, located on James Blvd, was entered in the middle of the night and several flower baskets, plants and various products were destroyed. The damages are estimated at about $4,000.

On 4/16/20 at about 0300 hours, the Juneau Police Department responded to an alarm call in the 5100 block of Glacier Hwy. An investigation revealed that a local business had been burglarized.
During the burglary, the suspect(s) caused about $5,000 dollars in damage and stole about $10,000 worth of merchandise. Much of the stolen merchandise was e-cigarette liquid.

On November 18, 2019 at about 7:40 AM, the Juneau Police Department received a report of the theft of $1,260 in tools from a business in the 8500 block of Airport Boulevard. The tools were taken from inside a work van and no suspect description was known.

On November 17, 2019 a package was stolen from the porch of a home in the 2500 block of Sunset Drive. The contents of the package were valued at $227.
During the Christmas holiday a lot of packages will be delivered to homes in the Juneau area. It is advisable to make sure that residents watch out for the thefts of those packages after delivery.

On October 19, 2019 at about 430PM, a male and female walked into a store in the 200 block of Seward Street and stole about $1,621 in clothing. The man was described as being a white male in his late 20’s about 6 feet 4 or 5 inches tall, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and True Religion brand jeans. The man was also wearing Grunden brand rubber boots, had a nose ring, and was unshaven. The man was with a female who was described as having long black hair and appeared to be 20 to 30 years of age.

On October 5, 2019 it was reported to JPD that about 100 gallons of heating fuel was stolen from a residence in the 400 block of Seward Street. The value of the fuel was estimated at about $314.

On two separate occasions a young male went into Sportsman’s Warehouse and stole items from the store. The first incident occurred on October 12 when the male entered the store and stole an Colt Commander look alike air pistol valued at $119.00. The second incident took place on October 21 when the male entered the store and stole and emergency vehicle jump start kit valued at $100. The male was described as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the word "ULTRADENT" written on the back in white letters.

On 11/09/18, the Juneau Police Department received several reports of vehicles being vandalized on Glacier Highway and surrounding areas. Between the area of the ferry terminal, out to Cohen Drive, several homeowners woke up in the morning to find their vehicles had windows broken out.
Not much property was reported missing from the vehicles, except for a tool kit, a vehicle manual and registration.
In addition to the vandalism and property theft, a light green 2008 Ford Escape was reported stolen from the area of Cohen Drive. The vehicle was described as having a bike rack on top and a faded Ireland sticker on the bottom of the driver's side of the windshield.
Currently, a total of twelve vehicles have been reported vandalized. The damages are estimated at about $6,000.

On 2/17/18, the Juneau Police Department received a report of a theft that was discovered on 2/12/18. The theft occurred in the 8000 block of Canyon Dr. when a work trailer was found open. 26 hand and power tools, totaling around $4000, were taken from the work trailer.
Brands include Porter Cable, Bosch, Skil, Dewalt, Kwikset, and Makita. The types of tools include, but are not limited to: routers, sheers, saws, drills, nail guns, sanders, and an air compressor.
